The Billboard Music Awards honors some of the hottest names in music today. Awards were given for the top album/artist/single in different genres. Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. The Billboard Music Award is an honor given by Billboard, a publication and music popularity chart covering the music industry. The Billboard Music Awards show had been held annually since 1990 in December until it went stopped for 4 years in 2007. The awards show returned in 2011. Held annually in May, this year the event is being held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

We saw multi-platinum music superstar, Billboard chart topper and current “Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson host NBC’s three-hour live telecast of the Billboard Music Awards. Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lemar were the artists that won the most awards for the evening having secured 6 awards each with artists Justin Bieber, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi and Bruno Mars not far behind each winning 5 awards. There were a variety of performers including Shawn Mendes, Khalid, Dua Lipa, Jenifer Lopez, DJ Khalid and many more.
